专利说明:

[0001] The present invention relates to a mold for forming confectionery products.
[0002] In particular, the present invention relates to a forming mold provided with a matrix of adjacent cells or cavities for simultaneously making a plurality of confectionery products and of the type comprising two coupled half-molds, generally rectangular in shape and both made of material polymeric, for example food-grade plastic material such as polycarbonate.
[0003] Each half-mold has on its own extended surface a plurality of pockets or open seats placed side by side and each capable of receiving a portion of the product to be formed, generally a wafer or chocolate half-shell capable, in turn, of host, in use, a filling material for the confectionery product.
[0004] Each half-mold then comprises two opposite end gripping portions, normally provided on the short side of the half-mold, and suitable for being coupled, in use, to gripping devices of motorized units for moving the half-molds. The motorized units move, in use, the half-molds with respect to each other to and from a forming position, in which the half-molds are superimposed and arranged in contact with each other. In this forming position, each seat of one of the half-molds faces a corresponding seat of the other half-mold to define one of the forming chamber, in which the two half-shells are arranged in contact with each other and contain the stuffing material.
[0005] Although used, known forming molds of the type described above are not capable of satisfying the increasingly stringent demands in terms of consistency in the quality of confectionery products.
[0006] Experimentally it has in fact been possible to ascertain that during their displacements, the half-molds, although presenting ribbed structures, due to the fact that they have perimeter gripping portions diametrically opposite to the intermediate forming portion, tend to bend and, in general , to deform, deviating from their initial undeformed condition which they no longer reach even when arranged in their forming position, with the consequence that the wafer or chocolate half-shells are arranged in relative positions different from those foreseen in the project and often, in the central area of the mold, zone in which the bending of the mold itself is generally more accentuated, the wafer half-shells are in relative positions such as to not be able to mate adherently to each other during the coupling step. This situation does not allow the perfect welding of the superimposed half-shells causing, in this case, unavoidable and intolerable smears along the junction edge of the two half-shells and consequent soiling of the mold which will therefore require additional cleaning operations to those originally foreseen.
[0007] The purpose of the present invention is to produce a mold for forming confectionery products, which allows to solve the above problems in a simple and economical way and, in particular, to produce confectionery products all having the same geometric and dimensional characteristics .
[0008] A further object of the present invention is to provide a forming mold which has a weight comparable to that of the current molds and which can be easily cleaned to reach the operating conditions envisaged in the food sector.
[0009] According to the present invention, a mold for forming confectionery products is provided comprising two plate halves made of thermoplastic material and movable to and from a forming position; each half-mold comprising, approached along a longitudinal direction, an intermediate molding portion comprising a plurality of seats side by side and adapted to receive, each, part of a relative confectionery product and two end gripping portions arranged on opposite sides of the intermediate portion and adapted to be coupled to respective motorized devices for gripping and moving the relative mold half; characterized in that each said half-mold further comprises two relative elongated metal reinforcing plates, each of which extends parallel to said longitudinal direction and is stably connected to a relative side of said intermediate forming portion.
[0010] Preferably, in the mold defined above, each intermediate forming portion is delimited by a respective flat front surface, through which said seats extend; said metal plates being orthogonal to said flat surface.
[0011] The invention will now be described with reference to the attached drawings, which illustrate a non-limiting embodiment thereof, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a forming mold according to the present invention , arranged in its position for forming confectionery products and coupled to a handling unit; Figure 2 is a partially perspective view on an enlarged scale of a detail of the mold of Figure 1; Figure 3 illustrates the mold of Figure 1 arranged in an open position; Figure 4 shows, in plan and on a reduced scale, a detail of the mold of Figures 1 to 3; and Figure 5 illustrates, on an enlarged scale, a variant of a detail of Figure 4.
[0012] In figure 1, 1 indicates, as a whole, a mold for forming confectionery products 2 (fig. 3) and, specifically, confectionery products comprising an outer shell 3, conveniently defined by two half-shells hosting between them a stuffing material for the confectionery product.
[0013] With reference to Figures 1 to 3, the mold 1 comprises two plate halves 4 and 5 distinct from each other and independent of each other. Conveniently, the two half-molds 4,5 are both made of thermoplastic material for food use such as for example polycarbonate or other polymeric material suitable for contact with food.
[0014] With reference to Figure 4, each half-mold 4,5 has a rectangular shape in plan and comprises, approached in a direction 7 parallel to the longer sides of the half-mold 4,5, an intermediate forming portion 8 and two end portions 9 of gripping, per se known, extending cantilevered from opposite sides of the intermediate portion 8 parallel to the shorter sides of the half-mold 4,5 and capable of being coupled to a gripping and handling unit known per se and indicated, as a whole, with 10 in fig. 3.
[0015] With reference to Figures 3 and 4, each intermediate forming portion 8 is delimited by a respective flat front surface 12 and by two flat side walls 13 parallel to the direction 7 and orthogonal to the relative front surface 8 and delimiting respective sides 14 of the same intermediate forming portion 8.
[0016] Through each of the front surfaces 12 a plurality of seats 15 (fig. 4) are made side by side and each one is suitable for receiving part of a relative confectionery product 2. In the particular example described, the seats 15 are grouped in rows 16 and arranged in a matrix with the long side orthogonal to a direction A of advancement, in use, of the relative mold half or of the mold.
[0017] Again in the particular example described, each of the seats 15 is a through seat, ie it defines an end portion of a relative passage which crosses the intermediate forming portion 8 from one side to the other.
[0018] Between two consecutive rows 16 there is a row of magnetic retention elements 18, conveniently magnets, suitable for maintaining, in use, the two half-molds 4,5 in a position for closing or forming the articles, illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, in which the front surfaces 12 are arranged practically in contact with each other and each cavity 15 of a mold half 4,5 extends in correspondence with a cavity 15 of the other mold half 4,5 to delimit a seat of forming of a relative confectionery product 2.
[0019] Again with reference to Figures 1 to 3, each half-mold 4,5 is stiffened by means of two elongated reinforcing metal plates 20, each of which extends parallel to the direction 7 and orthogonally to the relative front surface 12 and is stably connected to a relative side 14 (Fig. 4) of the intermediate forming portion 8.
[0020] According to what is illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the plates 20 are arranged completely outside the relative lateral surfaces 13 which delimit the relative sides 14 and are stably connected to the relative sides 14 by means of screws or rivets 22.
[0021] Alternatively, according to what is illustrated in Figure 4 and Figure 5, each side 14 is provided with a lateral recess 23 obtained through the relative surface 13 and elongated in the direction 7. The recess 23 has a length and a depth such as to accommodate partially or completely a relative metal plate 20 in a visible way and accessible from the outside. Inside the relative recess 23, each metal plate 20 is always stably connected by means of the screws or rivets 22.
[0022] In any case, the plates 20 have respective front edges 20A which lie on the relative front surfaces 12 and are arranged in contact with each other when the half-molds 4 and 5 are arranged in their forming position, as visible from the figures 1 and 2.
[0023] According to the variant illustrated in Figure 5, each metal plate 20 always extends orthogonally to the relative front surface 12 but is completely embedded in the relative side 14 and therefore is completely isolated from the outside.
[0024] From the foregoing it is evident that the use for each half-mold 4,5 of a pair of plates 20 arranged for cutting on opposite sides of the forming portion 8 allows to stiffen both flexibly and torsionally the relative half-mold 4,5 while maintaining the weight of the same half-mold comparable with that of the known half-molds.
[0025] In addition to this, the particular arrangement of the plates 20 outside the sides 14 or partially inside the recesses 23 means that the same plates 20 are always located outside the forming area of the confectionery products and in positions such as to always allow a direct visual examination and easy cleaning.
[0026] The problem of cleaning, on the other hand, is totally non-existent when the plates 20 are embedded in the relative sides 14.
